“Next is a start-up beauty cosmetics company founded by a Korean woman who migrated to NYC when she was nine. After years of struggling with finding skincare and make-up that cooperated with her skin type, she was inspired to start her own. The location of Next plays a key role in the foundation of this company. New York City is a melting pot of unique people and diverse cultures. The implementation of this city in the office space was essential to the client. At Next, the design is rooted in the vast and diverse musical culture the city holds. From the street dancers to the performers on Broadway New York City is full of an assortment of music. Stemming from this idea the concept of Next is Legato. Legato is a musical term referring to the fluid and continuous connection of notes within a song. Inside Next, fluid and continuous perception are implemented throughout the space to have consistent attention to the health and safety of the users. The space allows for the empowerment of its users by having fluid connections through spaces without a hierarchical stereotype. It provides adaptable zones that adjust towards the necessary use and preference of the user with attention to remote working. Overall, it has consistent care for the wellness of its users mentally, physically, and emotionally. Furthermore, the empowerment of the founder and the office space is designed to continue empowering and provide a space for its users to reach excellence.”
