Southern Blue

“The purpose of this assignment was to create a pair of jeans custom to our body shape with a complementing top. I love southwestern design. I stuck with a bootcut style and added fun turquoise Aztec, accent stitching to the back pockets. Some new concepts I learned on this piece were how to create a fly front, felled seams, and pocket construction. I also learned how to use the knitwear machines when creating the top. This project embodies our 150-year Legacy of Excellence and Empowerment as it allowed me to represent the growth of knowledge that this program has provided to so many students before me. As one of the first colleges to teach sewing to women how to sew back in 1870, we have now expanded our program to grow with the industry in addition to allowing anyone to study fashion.”
