Smith Family Home

“This residential design project focused on a family of five, a wife and husband with their three children, as well as their frequently visiting grandmother. Each came with their own set of accommodations to design for. One of the kids named Noah is a four-year-old who is on the spectrum. This resulted in designing the entire home with him in mind, keeping each space welcoming for him as well as the rest of the family and any guests. As a result, this final design consists of public and private spaces that accommodate every family member. It focuses on color theory, the importance of human connection, and independence. This design is communicated through both hand-drafted and rendered drawings and digital layout design. The final result of the home consists of use of various materials and textures, easy navigation, and room for personalization. Smith’s Family Home was designed to inspire individualism while also encouraging family interaction and growth.”
