What Happens to Clothing and Textiles Left Behind at Kansas State University? “Our legacy for the College of Health and Human Sciences has been based on empowerment from giving women access to education in 1870 to continuing the power of giving students a strong purpose in their lives. After thinking about the word empowerment, I believe this definition is centered around freedom and control over what we choose to gain more knowledge about to spark inspiration towards others. The College of Health and Human Sciences inspired me to continue researching further from the classroom setting on sustainability and therefore I applied to the Developing Scholars Program. Then with the help of my mentor, Dr. Haar, I was able to learn more about how Kansas State University manages textiles and garments left behind by students. The fact that I was given the freedom to explore more into my interest makes me feel that I can impact future generations even more as well as change the programs the university faces on textiles. Furthermore, having control over one’s education is so important to gain growth and understanding of one’s environment and how the industry impacts our university.” — Agel Yor Slide 1 Slide 1 (current slide)
