“The purpose of this project is to show empowerment through sizing and being able to encourage young ladies that body type no longer matters. I want you to include the universe to show that outer space has many different sizes of stars, planets, and organisms. Therefore, we should be able to include all types of people when we are deciding garments geared towards anyone of any age range. Women the most are often discouraged by society through the display of slimmer bodies on the media. This was especially true in the 1980s when looking at many garment pieces you will be able to see that most of the females modeling the pictures were very slim. Therefore, I decided to use the 1980s which had fun patterns and fun colors to help females realize now that they can shine as they should have in the 1980s. I hope that this project brings hope and empowerment to women out there who feel that they are not part of this world. ”
