This project embodies empowerment in the strength of the print of the pants and the elongation of the legs in the linear print. The intention of this ensemble is to empower the wearer to take on their day in their field and feel confident doing so. This can also be tied into the history of empowerment at K-State as almost all components of this garment are sustainable and local to Manhattan. The wearer is enveloped in the same grasses and colors this university was built on. The same landscape that the first class of women saw can now be worn. The color is derived from coffee sourced from K-State’s own Cornerstone Coffee and Bakery. This entire garment represents the community and space for learners to grow at K-State; to honor K-State without wearing a shred of purple.
