Inner Circle
“The Jeans and Performance wear project was intended to teach us about industry standard sewing methods and how to adjust patterns to give different designs. My Inner Circle design was based on a pair of jeans I wanted in my own closet. The contrasting jean material calls attention to the circular pattern going down the side seams of the jeans. Inserting these metal pieces was a fun part of the project that required trial and error to ensure the pieces kept the right shape and stayed in place. To keep with this circular pattern, the performance top has a circular cut out. This was a lot harder than I had first thought it would be, but the result turned out amazing. The finished look represents the skills and qualities I learned in this class. Being able to learn about the industry and devote my skills to making clothes for my own closet gives me an appreciation for the Fashion Studies program.”
