Dhyana: heal Within

“To follow the assigned design theme “Technology”, the project was started by exploring many different paths such as the use of innovative materials, patternmaking methods, functional garments, print making methods, and garments using sensors by conducting a thorough research. The overreaching goal of the project was to design and construct a sustainable and functional garment collection that uses innovative and creative technologies for an underrepresented consumer category in the market. Thus, Dhyana: Heal Within was created for women, particularly those who are diagnosed with skin-related autoimmune diseases, using SeaCell fabrics: an eco-friendly and non-allergenic fabric produced from seaweed, that are naturally dyed with food and flower waste. The design concept centers around comfort and wellness to restore a sense of calm and wellbeing through clean lines, natural materials, and neutral colors.”
