“In my Fashion 445 class, Professional development, Dr. Joy Robbins intended this portfolio assignment to help prepare us for our future careers and job interviews. We were all given the creative freedom to design a website that best represents our aesthetic. I used the website builder called Wix, along with pre formulating fonts and layouts on Adobe In-design to help form my perfect and aesthetically pleasing capsule. I learned so much that will prepare me for my future, but more specifically about whom I want to be represented as in the face of industry professionals. This assignment helped me narrow in on my personal aesthetic and learn how to present that confidently. The main market of this portfolio assignment is for industry professionals to learn more about who I am, the experience I have, previous projects, and the skills I possess. I feel as though this portfolio assignment embodies our showcase theme of legacy, excellence, and empowerment because this assignment and course had taught me how to be empowered by authenticity while in preparation for my future career endeavors. Throughout this semester-long assignment of creating a website revolving around me and my accomplishments, I learned to be more confident and unapologetically myself when it comes to creating work. This year’s showcase theme is not only about excellence but also empowerment and I have learned the epitome of self-empowerment throughout this portfolio assignment for all the reasons I have stated above.”
