American Ghoul

“This board was made for FASH 340’s Met Gala project to which I chose to restyle Troye Sivan for the 2021 Met Gala. In this class, we took a celebrity who we didn’t think matched the year’s theme and styled them how we thought they should have dressed. The theme was In America A Lexicon of Fashion, and I drew inspiration from old Hollywood and the beginning of the American Horror genre. My biggest inspiration was a collision of Thom Browne’s haunting designs and the Universal monster movies such as The Invisible Man. To create this board, I used Photoshop to make a grid-style mood board with the outfit choices collaged on the right side. My board embodies empowerment as the styling is very genderfluid and shows that one can be fashionable no matter their gender.”
